Are you a Canadian resident aged 65 or older who has been targeted or victimized by fraud?
If so, we would like to invite you to participate in the fraud victimization among older adults study being conducted across Canada, led by researchers at King’s University College at Western University and the Ontario Provincial Police.
The goals of this study are to document the harms that victims and near-victims of fraud experience, and to determine the best ways to meet the support needs of older adults.
The study consists of one 60-to-75-minute session. Participation can take place over the phone or via online video telecommunication software, based on your preference. You will receive a $30 Amazon e-gift card in exchange for participation.
The research is being conducted by Dr. Joshua Wyman of King’s University College at Western University and Lyndsay Woolridge of the Ontario Provincial Police.
All information collected during this study will be kept confidential and will not be shared with anyone outside the study unless required by law.
You will not be named in any reports, publications, or presentations that may come from this study.
We would like an opportunity to speak with you to discuss our project and answer any questions you may have. Your participation helps contribute to research that may lead to benefits for older adults who are at risk of fraud victimization.
