Study shows significant increase in Ontarians living with chronic illness by 2040

Conducted in collaboration with the Ontario Hospital Association, the Dalla Lana School of Public Health has released a study on the Projected Patterns of Illness in Ontario.

The study reveals an unprecedented strain on Ontario’s healthcare system, exacerbated by a growing and aging population.

​By 2040, approximately 3.1 million people are expected to be living with major illness  - up from 1.8 million in 2020.
