Seniors First BC is a charitable, non-profit society that provides information, advocacy, support, and referrals to older adults across BC who are dealing with issues affecting their well-being, as well as those who care for them.

Before an adult is admitted into a care facility, it is required by law that consent is obtained for their admission. An adult may be incapable of giving or refusing consent because they are unable to understand the information they are provided to make the decision.

The Government of B.C. has developed an Information Kit to help older adults learn how to prevent abuse, recognize abuse when it happens, know how to respond and know where they can find assistance.
